Trani is very close to the Apulian Murge in the Territory of Barletta Andria Trani. It extends in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani and in the province of Bari, on the highest part of the North-West Murge Plateau. Among the main attractions of the park is Castel del Monte, one of the most famous castles in the whole of southern Italy. Of particular naturalistic interest are the Mercadante Forest in the Cassano delle Murge area, the Pulo di Altamura, representing the largest karst sinkhole in the area as well as the valley of the dinosaurs, also in the Altamura area. Other places of interest are the Gravine, typical karst morphologies of the Murgia and the Bosco Difesa Grande in the territory of Gravina di Puglia, a large forest mass of over 3000 hectares and representing one of the most important forest complexes in Puglia. Particular are the jazzi, rock constructions used during periods of transhumance, frequent especially in the territory of Andria, Ruvo, Minervino and Spinazzola.
